Annual Power Press Award Winners Announced at HLTH2022

Annual Awards seek to honor and celebrate excellence in healthcare journalism

 Inspiring works were nominated across a diverse array of health care subjects and communication channels are recognized by these peoples’ choice awards


LAS VEGAS, Nov. 14, 2022 /PRNewswire/ – The 2022 Power Press Awards winners were announced today at HLTH.

The Power Press Awards are a peoples’ choice award for healthcare journalism. During the past 12 months healthcare editors, publishers, members of the media and the healthcare industry at large submitted journalistic works that inspired audiences, spawned empathy, created clarity, educated audiences on complex subjects, were deeply moving and gave them hope.

All nominees were reviewed by a private steering committee of industry leaders. Public voting results, among other factors, were considered as the final decisions were made across seven categories, and a Founder’s Award for spirit and lifetime achievement was also presented by Power Press Awards founder and host, Dennis Dailey, Publisher of mHealth Times.

The Founder’s Award was presented to Merrill Goozner, whose career in journalism spans more than 40 years, including a nine year affiliation with Modern Healthcare as Editor–in-Chief and Emeritus who is currently self-publishing Gooz News

This year, the Power Press Awards will be presented on stage Nov. 14, 2022 at the HLTH 2022 conference.

Editors, publishers and members of the media as well as the health care industry at large are invited to submit journalistic works reflecting diligently researched, skillfully constructed and insightfully written health stories, podcasts, videos and social media posts that meet the award category criteria.

The 2022 Power Press Awards presented by eVisit, Intelligent Medical Objects, FINN Partners and InterSystems raise the bar on what matters most in health stories, podcasts, videos and social media posts across seven categories:

A Founder’s Award for spirit and lifetime achievement will be presented by Power Press Awards founder and host, Dennis Dailey, Publisher of mHealth Times.

Open voting for the Power Press Awards closes at midnight EST on Nov. 4, 2022. All nominees will be reviewed by a private steering committee of industry leaders which will consider the public voting results, among other factors. Nominators can get the attention of the steering committee by using the #PowerPress22 hashtag on LinkedIn or Twitter.
