How this Denver kidney care startup grew its employees sixfold in 2020

Strive Health, a Denver-based kidney care company, has grown rapidly over the last year. In January 2020, the company had about 30 employees. Today, it has more than 200.

Not only did the company grow its team sixfold-plus, it also went from not yet entering its first market — St. Louis, which it entered in April 2020 — to now be available in six states.

Strive Health’s business relies on technology and high-touch patient care to catch patients early in their kidney disease. Many patients learn about their kidney disease when they crash into needing dialysis. Strive’s machine learning technology works to catch patients before that point, and then set them up with a Kidney Hero — a nurse practitioner dedicated to helping that patient slow the progression of their disease. That nurse practitioner checks in with a patient four to six times per month to make sure the patient has what they need to access care and manage their health.
