Andrea Riposati is the CEO & Co-founder of Dante Labs, a six-year-old company that joined StartUp Health in 2019. Dante Labs is on a mission to accelerate science to save human lives. To do this, they want every person to have access to and understand their whole genome.

Over the last six years, Riposati has seen how much the personal genomic market has changed. And he sees genomics testing moving from strictly diagnostics to therapeutics, particularly in rare diseases and oncology.

In this interview, Riposati offers advice to entrepreneurs on being successful without raising large funding rounds. Dante Labs’ global approach to the whole genome has impacted lives in 97 different countries and they’ve grown their annual revenue to $100M. In order to continue to impact lives, the company founders – who still own 90% of the company – reinvest the profits back into the business in strategic ways.
